On February 7, SuperStaff steps outside the workplace and into the community through meaningful Random Acts of Kindness activities that are simple, human, and deeply impactful.
In celebration of Random Acts of Kindness Day, SuperStaff volunteers will partner with Kawa Pilipinas to prepare and distribute hot meals to homeless individuals staying around the Philippine General Hospital area and along Kalaw Avenue.
These Random Acts of Kindness activities are not designed as corporate events. They are people events. A day where employees come together to serve, to listen, and to show up for members of the community who are often unseen.
More than 250 individuals will receive freshly prepared meals through this community outreach program. Beyond the number is the intention behind it. This effort is about dignity, presence, and the belief that kindness, when done together through Random Acts of Kindness activities, creates real impact.
About the Partner: Kawa Pilipinas
Kawa Pilipinas is a SEC-registered nonprofit focused on addressing hunger among marginalized groups in Metro Manila. Their model is simple and powerful. They cook, they show up, and they serve.
Through feeding initiatives, partnerships, and volunteer engagement, they restore dignity to those facing food insecurity. Their work is rooted in action, not awareness. That is exactly why this partnership made sense for SuperStaff’s Random Acts of Kindness activities.
Both organizations believe that care should be visible, practical, and shared.
Why This Initiative Matters to SuperStaff
SuperStaff has always emphasized a people first company culture, not only inside the organization but outside of it.
These Random Acts of Kindness activities align with SuperStaff’s SuperHeart CSR efforts and support meaningful engagement through a structured community outreach program that goes beyond the workplace. It reflects a shared understanding of how companies celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day in ways that create direct human impact.
This effort also aligns with key Sustainable Development Goals:
- SDG 2: Zero Hunger through providing meals to marginalized communities
- SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities by ensuring access to basic needs with dignity
- SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through collaboration with a mission-driven nonprofit
These are not abstract goals. On February 7, they became lived actions through intentional Random Acts of Kindness activities.
The SuperStaff Team Leads Who Stepped Forward
Behind every successful initiative are leaders who choose to go first.
For this year’s Random Acts of Kindness activities, five SuperStaff team leads volunteered their time, energy, and heart to be on the ground and serve the community: Nina Afable, Sarlene Flores, Mariz Bacani, Ann Blanco, and Bern Vergara.
Their participation reflects what a true people first company culture looks like in action. Leadership at SuperStaff does not stop at managing teams or hitting targets. It extends to showing up for the community and setting the tone for meaningful engagement through our community outreach program.
“Being part of these Random Acts of Kindness activities reminded me that leadership is not just about guiding a team. It is also about serving the community and showing up where it matters,” stated Bern Vergara, Senior Trainer.
Through their involvement, these team leads helped turn a calendar event into a lived experience. And in doing so, they inspired others to continue participating in future Random Acts of Kindness activities that reflect SuperStaff’s values beyond the workplace.
Random Acts of Kindness Day: The SuperStaff Way
The day begins early, and every step is intentional.
Morning: Preparation at Kawa Pilipinas
SuperStaff volunteers assembled at the Kawa Pilipinas office in Santa Mesa, Manila as early as 7:00 AM.
The morning was dedicated to:
- Food preparation
- Meal packing
- Volunteer orientation
- Team breakfast
This is where the work began: Hands in motion. Conversations flowing. A shared understanding of why everyone is there as part of these Random Acts of Kindness activities.

Midday: Packing With Purpose
From 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, volunteers packed lunch meals that were later distributed around PGH and Kalaw. This is detailed work. Careful work. Every pack is prepared with the knowledge that it will go directly to someone who needs it that same day through this community outreach program.
Volunteers also shared lunch together before heading out. A pause before the outreach began.
Afternoon: Distribution Around PGH and Kalaw
During the afternoon, SuperStaff volunteers distributed the meals to homeless individuals staying around the Philippine General Hospital area and along Kalaw Avenue.
This is the heart of these Random Acts of Kindness activities.
No presentations or speeches. Just conversations, eye contact, and human interaction. Volunteers met people where they were and offered something warm, immediate, and sincere.

Documentation and Reflection
A short photo and video documentation followed, not to spotlight the volunteers but to capture the spirit of these Random Acts of Kindness activities and encourage more participation in future efforts.
The day closed with remarks and reflections before everyone headed home, carrying stories they did not have that morning.
More Than Feeding Programs
Feeding programs often focus on numbers, such as how many meals and how many people were served. These Random Acts of Kindness activities focus on presence.
For many of the individuals staying around PGH, daily life is unpredictable. Access to food is uncertain. Interactions can be transactional or dismissive. A warm meal handed respectfully, with a greeting and a smile, becomes more than food. It becomes acknowledgement.
That is what SuperStaff volunteers bring through this community outreach program on February 7: acknowledgment.
What This Meant for the Volunteers
For employees who participated, this was a chance to step outside their usual roles and experience a different kind of teamwork rooted in a people first company culture.
Not KPIs, not deliverables, not meetings. Just people working together to help other people through purposeful Random Acts of Kindness activities.
These shared experiences strengthen internal culture in ways no conference room activity can. Our volunteers returned with perspective, gratitude, and a deeper connection to the values SuperStaff promotes.

Living the Value of Kindness
Random Acts of Kindness Day is often symbolic. A reminder to be thoughtful.
SuperStaff chose to make it tangible through organized Random Acts of Kindness activities.
By partnering with Kawa Pilipinas and dedicating time, energy, and effort to serve the homeless community around PGH and Kalaw, we helped demonstrate how companies celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day in a way that turns a calendar event into a lived value.
Kindness becomes scheduled, planned, executed, and most importantly, shared.
A Partnership That Extends Beyond One Day
This collaboration with Kawa Pilipinas is not intended to be a one-time activity. It opens the door for future Random Acts of Kindness activities where SuperStaff employees can continue participating in this community outreach program and address real needs in Metro Manila.
When organizations work together, impact multiplies. This is SDG 17 in practice.
February 7 Was All About Showing Up
On this day, SuperStaff volunteers did not just show up as employees. They showed up as members of the community through heartfelt Random Acts of Kindness activities.
Super teams cooked, packed, traveled, served, and listened.
In doing so, they remind everyone involved that kindness is not complicated. It is simply the act of being present for someone else.
More than 2,000 meals were distributed. Yet the true measure of these Random Acts of Kindness activities is found in the small exchanges. The “thank yous,” the smiles, and the conversations that happen on sidewalks outside PGH.
That is where real impact lives.
Random Acts of Kindness Activities: Our SuperHeart in Action
SuperStaff’s initiative with Kawa Pilipinas shows what happens when a people first company culture meets genuine community care through intentional Random Acts of Kindness activities.
It demonstrates how companies celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day not through words, but through action.
On February 7, kindness left the office and walked the streets of Manila. And that is something worth writing about.
